Jeffrey A. Getzel, CPA CFF - Managing Partner
Forensic Auditing, Litigation Support and Tax
A graduate of Bernard Baruch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, Mr. Getzel earned a Masters of Business Administration in Taxation from Hofstra University. He holds a license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in New York, and the designation of Certified in Financial Forensics, issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Along with managing the practice, Mr. Getzel's client responsibilities advising them on general business and tax related matters, transaction structuring and financing alternatives, and long range strategic planning. He heads the Forensic Auditing and Litigation Support Practice Unit, as well as the Tax Practice and Management Advisory Services.
Mr. Getzel is a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, Long Island Division, a member of the Executive Committee, and held the office of Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. A past member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Beth Torah in Dix Hills, Mr. Getzel held the office of Treasurer for four years, the office of Vice-President, and Chaired the Budget and Finance Committee, as well as, a number of other committees. In addition, he has held committee posts with the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Managing Partners Committee and also the Committee for Cooperation with the New York State Bar Association. He has served on various other committees for the March of Dimes, The Outreach Project, and Cold Spring Country Club. He is a Founding Member and Treasurer of The SK Children's Charities (f/k/a Steven Kaplan Memorial Foundation), whose mission is helping children's charities.
Mr. Getzel is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American College of Forensic Examiners and the Institute of Business Appraisers.
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has awarded him Certificates in Educational Achievement in the areas of Personal Financial Planning and Business Valuations. American College of Forensic Examiners awarded him the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Accounting. He has lectured on conducting a forensic audit in matrimonial actions, structuring a stock grant or sale of a stock interest to an employee, as well as, a number of estate planning, business succession, business valuation and financial disclosure issues.
